The Girl Next Door

4th May 2011 by Martin Gibbons

Come to see Sarah’s new play, The Girl Next Door in a rehearsed reading at The Royal Exchange on Thursday 5 May at 1pm. Tickets available from The Royal Exchange box office on 0161 833 9833.

Annie and George have lived in the same house in Moss Side for 55 years.  They’ve never had trouble with the neighbours – until now.  As they set about collecting evidence to get rid of them, they meet the little girl next door and everything changes.

The Girl Next Door is a WORD – IN PROGRESS event at The Royal Exchange, a series of lunchtime readings, presenting brand new plays making their first appearance in front of a live audience.  You will be involved in the next stage of their development by telling us what you think.
Sarah is an actor and writer from Manchester.  She has been commissioned by Radio 4, Paines Plough, Contact, The Lowry and Action Transport.  She is co-artistic director of Monkeywood Theatre, for whom she has written A SONG FOR THE LOVERS, LAST ORDERS, MAINE ROAD and an adaptation of Andrea Ashworth’s ONCE IN A HOUSE ON FIRE, a sell out success at The Lowry this April.
