Stars Are Fire at 24:7 Theatre Festival, Manchester

9th June 2012 by Martin Gibbons

STARS ARE FIRE is a new play written by Francesca Waite and directed by Liz Postlethwaite, which Monkeywood will produce as part of Manchester’s highly acclaimed 24:7 Theatre Festival in July 2012. This year’s involvement in the festival follows previous successful productions of MAINE ROAD in 2009, which went on to a northern tour funded by the Arts Council England Grants for the Arts, and A SONG FOR THE LOVERS in 2006.

When Carly’s mum dies, her dad decides they need a fresh start ‘back home’ in Northumberland. But Carly’s home is Manchester, it’s what she knows and who she is. As she struggles to adjust to their new, cold, lonely life, she wonders if her dad really knows her at all…

STARS ARE FIRE will run at New Century House in Manchester from Friday 20 – Thursday 26 July 2012. Tickets are available from 24:7 Theatre Festival. Casting will be announced soon, watch this space.
