Monkeywood are a Manchester theatre company. We live here and make our work here. More than that, our work is ABOUT here. But what does that mean?
Directed By Martin Gibbons

Our work has always explored the themes of PLACE and HOME and Manchester itself: what does it mean to be a Mancunian? What is it like to live here? Why is place, and THIS PLACE in particular, so important to us?

For three days in June 2017, we’ll be working with writers and artists from across Greater Manchester to try to unpick this, putting our identity as a Manchester company centre stage. We’re going to create a theatrical map of Manchester, investigating all the corners of this city and its people.

This is something we’ve wanted to do for a long time…now feels like the right time to start. And you can help. On Wednesday 28th June, we’re holding an early stage sharing of our findings, at HOME at 1pm. Please join us to discover what we’ve found and what we plan to do next.
