Francesca to step down as Co-Artistic Director

29th February 2016 by Martin Gibbons
Francesca Waite is stepping down as Co-Artistic Director of Monkeywood to pursue other artistic projects. Since co-founding the company in 2003, Francesca has contributed hugely to the work and the Company who, during this time, have become recognised as a key voice in Manchester theatre and have been awarded The Stage Door Award for Excellence. While co-producing all of our work, she has performed in 7 of our productions and she wrote Stars Are Fire, which toured in 2012/2013.
It goes without saying that we’ll miss her very much, but we wish her every success in all her future work. Francesca is excited to go on to work on new projects, beginning with her direction of the sell-out Coal Girls this week at The Oldham Coliseum Studio. We also look forward to welcoming her back to work with us as a writer on our upcoming UPRISING project later in the year.
