We are looking for a self-motivated individual with good common sense to coordinate all aspects of the tour. This involves managing actors, technicians, props and costume, as well as liaising with front of house staff and the director.
Key to this role is some degree of technical expertise and experience as we want the SM to oversee all technical aspects of the production working alongside experienced set, lighting and sound designers.
The Stage Manager will be required to accompany the show on tour and to oversee ‘get-in’s’ and ‘get-out’s’, liaise with venue staff and operate parts of the show.
A new play following three young people becoming parents for the first time
Shannon and Dylan are 16. They’re in love. And they’re having a baby.
In 2012, Monkeywood spent hundreds of hours with young parents from across Manchester, gathering their true stories, opinions and insights. The stories they told were surprising, moving and heartstoppingly honest. FLESH is a brand new play based on these stories which follows three young people as they become parents for the first time.
Monkeywood make new plays that are rooted in their Mancunian community. Previous work includes ONCE IN A HOUSE ON FIRE (nominated for BEST NEW PLAY and BEST STUDIO PERFORMANCE for Sarah McDonald Hughes, Manchester Theatre Awards 2011); STARS ARE FIRE; LAST ORDERS (nominated for BEST NEW PLAY, Manchester Theatre Awards 2011).
FLESH has been developed with the support of Arts Council England through Grants for the Arts and The Granada Foundation.
If you are interested in this role then please email your CV to firstname.lastname@example.org by Friday 4th October 2013. We will contact successful candidates after this time.
